-Cu- Copper mirror

- Cu - is based on the aging of the material. Copper has this wonderful property of oxidation. Left in the open air and without surface treatment, it changes color and texture over time. Copper is primarily a metal, so it is possible to make it reflective like a mirror. This material comes alive over the years. We see it evolve and be altered. In the same way that we do not perceive us to our own physical change over the years, copper’s mirror remind us poetically that everything in this world is transformed.

The mirror whatches us changing and we watch the mirror changing.

The central part is polished until obtiention of a brilliant surface, then varnish with a cellulose or a two-component varnish. This is going to prevent the oxidation of the copper and will preserve the brilliant surface. On the contrary, the outside ring is slightly textured to favor the oxidation of the copper. So during the ageing of the object, only the outside part will change color and aspect. Use of a copper plate from 3 mm to 5 mm thick.
